The treatment concept

Why sponge spicules?

Sponge spicules are tiny, needle-like structures derived from natural marine sponge. In topical skincare, they create a prickly micro-stimulation effect across the skin’s surface while helping the formula spread evenly.

  • Helps the skin feel freshly treated and more refined.
  • Supports the delivery of formula across the skin’s surface.
  • Pairs targeted actives with a specialised treatment experience.
How sponge spicules work in a topical skincare treatment
Melasma-conscious skincare

Support the skin first. Treat uneven tone thoughtfully.

Melasma-prone skin can be reactive. Choose a formula based on your skin’s condition, introduce it carefully and avoid using it on skin that is irritated, sunburnt or compromised.

Start gently

Patch test first and follow the product directions. Do not add extra pressure or use the treatment more often than instructed.

Keep the routine simple

Avoid layering strong acids, retinoids or other potentially irritating actives around treatment use unless directed by a professional.

Daily SPF matters

Use broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning. Sun and visible light can make uneven tone harder to manage.

How to approach it

A simple treatment routine.

1
Choose your variantSelect the formula that best fits your skin’s current concern.
2
Follow the box directionsApply the treatment exactly as directed. Each box provides two treatments.
3
Protect and observeKeep the rest of your routine gentle and use daily SPF while your skin settles.

Treatment FAQ

How many treatments are in one box?

Each box contains two treatments. Follow the packaging directions for how to prepare and apply each treatment unit.

Which variant should I choose for melasma?

For uneven-looking tone, the Alpha-Arbutin & Vitamin C formula is the most brightening-focused option. Melasma can be reactive, so choose based on your skin’s current condition and patch test first.

Is this the same as professional microneedling?

No. This is a topical cosmetic treatment using sponge-derived spicules. It is not a professional microneedling procedure and should not be treated as one.

Can I use it on sensitive skin?

Introduce it cautiously and patch test first. Do not use it on broken, sunburnt, inflamed or irritated skin. Stop if you experience strong or persistent discomfort.

Can I use other active products at the same time?

To help reduce the chance of irritation, avoid layering strong exfoliating or retinoid products around treatment use unless your skincare professional advises otherwise.

Do I still need sunscreen?

Yes. Daily broad-spectrum SPF is essential, especially when managing the appearance of uneven tone or using an active treatment product.
