IPL uses controlled pulses of light that interact with pigment associated with the hair. LUMICOOL pairs this light-based approach with five adjustable intensity levels, integrated cooling and two treatment modes.

Managing melasma or pigmentation? Read this first.
LUMICOOL is an IPL hair-reduction device—not a melasma treatment. Integrated cooling is designed to improve comfort and minimise surface heat, but it does not make IPL risk-free for melasma or pigmentation-prone skin.
IPL still uses light that interacts with pigment. If you have melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation or a history of pigment changes after heat or light-based procedures, seek professional advice before use.
Consistency is where IPL makes the difference.
Hair grows through different stages, so IPL works as a routine rather than a one-off treatment. Follow the exact treatment frequency in the supplied LUMICOOL instructions.
Use only the frequency stated in the LUMICOOL guide, beginning with an appropriate level for your skin and treatment area.
Continue according to the supplied schedule rather than adding extra sessions or repeatedly treating the same area.
Move into maintenance at the interval specified in the guide as visible regrowth becomes slower, softer or finer.
A better IPL session starts before the first flash.
Patch test before your first full treatment, begin conservatively and avoid treating freshly tanned, sunburned, broken or visibly irritated skin.

Remove visible surface hair before treatment. Avoid waxing or epilating during the treatment course because IPL needs pigment associated with the hair root. Follow the supplied guide.

Connect LUMICOOL to power, switch the device on and activate the integrated cooling function.

Begin conservatively and increase only when appropriate for your skin tone, treatment area and comfort.
Treat systematically
Work methodically using Manual or Auto Mode and avoid repeatedly flashing the same spot.
Never look directly into the treatment window or deliberately flash LUMICOOL toward the eyes. Follow the eye-protection instructions supplied with the device.
Know your skin tone before you begin.
IPL works by targeting pigment associated with the hair, which means skin tone matters. Use LUMICOOL only within the exact skin-tone range shown in the supplied guide. Screen colours are approximate and do not replace the manufacturer chart or a patch test. Do not use on very dark skin.
IPL needs pigment associated with the hair. It generally works best on naturally dark hair and may be ineffective on very light blonde, red, grey or white hair. Check the supplied LUMICOOL hair-colour guidance before purchasing or treating.
